Our projects vary in size from small extensions and conversions up to new build bespoke executive homes.

Why use an Architect

When you are making major alterations to your home or building an entirely new one, an RIAS ARB registered architect can help you manage the design, the builders and the money.

Architects are trained to make the most of the site, space and materials to maximise what you can get for your budget and reduce your future bills.

They are familiar with the construction industry, legislation, construction professionals and standards and can help guide you in every step of the project. They interpret your ideas with imagination, creating spaces that can be used, enjoyed and valued for decades.

To any building project, no matter how small, they will bring three essential qualities: Expertise, Imagination and value for money

Fees

Architect’s fees can vary considerably depending on the level of service, complexity, location and type of project required. If you are getting competitive quotes you may wish to distinguish between ARB, RIAS Chartered Practices and other designers. Anyone can with CAD software offer ‘architectural services’ but only architects can use the name architect and be an RIBA member.

Choosing a qualified architect can add considerable value and success to your project. It is a common misconception that architects charge much more than other potentially less qualified designers. Due the competitive nature of the industry, architects can offer surprisingly competitive rates.  Generally, you pay for what you get. Good design takes time and going for the lowest possible quote can be false economy in the overall budget if you are looking for a well designed scheme.

Every project Is priced individually, with agreed levels of service. We offer a free initial consultation within 50 miles of Motherwell.

We recommend clients obtain a copy of the ‘A Domestic Client's Guide to Engaging an Architect’ published by the RIBA for addition information on this topic (available from https://www.ribabookshops.com).
